- Bangladesh and Netherlands qualify for Super Six
- Ireland maintain perfect start in Group A
- Scotland revive campaign with first win
Day 3 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Global Qualifier in Nepal delivered high drama, fine margins, and commanding performances, as Bangladesh and the Netherlands confirmed their places in the Super Six stage, while Ireland and Scotland picked up vital victories to keep their qualification hopes firmly alive.
Nepal fall agonizingly short against Netherlands
Hosts Nepal pushed the Netherlands to the brink in a thrilling Group B encounter but ultimately fell just short in a heart-breaking finish. The Dutch posted 140 for 5, anchored by captain Babette de Leede’s composed 49 off 47 balls, which looked to have given them control of the contest.
Nepal appeared out of contention at 93 for 7 in the 17th over, before an inspired late surge from Rubina Chhetry (37* off 32) and Sita Magar (27* off 12) reignited belief. Their unbeaten 45-run stand took the chase deep, but Heather Siegers’ nerveless final over sealed another narrow victory for the Netherlands (by 2 runs), who remain unbeaten after three matches and now sit comfortably atop Group B.
Ireland’s depth proves too strong for USA
Ireland continued their strong start to the tournament with a second consecutive win in Group A, overpowering a spirited United States side. After opting to bat, Ireland posted 154 for 7, recovering well after the early loss of star allrounder Orla Prendergast for a golden duck.
Openers Gaby Lewis (42 off 32) and Amy Hunter (18 off 13) set the tempo, before Leah Paul’s commanding 67 off 52 balls provided the backbone of the innings, featuring eight boundaries and authoritative strokeplay.
In reply, USA showed fight through Chetna Pagydyala (22) and a late push from Ritu Singh (41 off 30), but regular wickets through the middle overs proved costly as they finished 16 runs short.
Bangladesh dominate Namibia to seal Super Six berth
Bangladesh underlined their credentials as tournament heavyweights with a thumping 80-run victory over Namibia, extending their unbeaten streak to three matches and officially booking their Super Six spot. Batting first, Bangladesh posted 144, built on collective contributions rather than a single standout performance.
Sobhana Mostary (27) led the way, with Dilara Akter (25), Nigar Sultana Joty (21) and Shorna Akter (23) ensuring consistent scoring throughout. The bowlers then delivered a ruthless display, skittling Namibia for just 64.
Shanjida Akther Maghla (4/14) spearheaded the collapse, with superb support from Rabeya Khan (3/5) and Fahima Khatun (3/12), as Bangladesh stamped their authority on the competition.
Scotland open account against Zimbabwe
Scotland finally got their campaign up and running with a composed win over Zimbabwe, keeping their Super Six hopes alive. A disciplined bowling effort restricted Zimbabwe to 101, despite resistance from Modester Mupachikwa (30* off 40) and Chiedza Dhururu (22 off 20).
Zimbabwe fought back with the ball through Loreen Tshuma’s three-wicket haul, but Scotland’s chase remained under control. Katherine Fraser’s fluent 44 off 30 set the platform, with skipper Kathryn Bryce (23 off 13) providing impetus. Calm finishes from Megan McColl (12*) and Priyanaz Chatterji (15*) ensured Scotland crossed the line with five wickets in hand.
