Sri Lanka women set for six-match Caribbean tour against West Indies

Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed a six-match women’s tour of the West Indies, with the two sides set to clash in a multi-format series across February and March 2026. The tour will feature three One-Day Internationals (ODI) followed by three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I), offering valuable competitive exposure for both teams.

The ODI series will begin on February 20, before the focus shifts to the shorter format, with the first T20I scheduled for February 28. The tour will conclude on March 3, with all six matches taking place at the Grenada National Stadium, providing consistency in conditions throughout the series.

The Caribbean tour is expected to play a crucial role in Sri Lanka’s build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales, set to begin in June. With limited international windows ahead of the global event, the series offers Sri Lanka a timely opportunity to fine-tune combinations and adapt to overseas conditions.

In the current ICC Women’s Rankings, Sri Lanka sit sixth in ODIs, while the West Indies are placed ninth. In T20Is, the hosts hold a narrow edge at sixth, with Sri Lanka just behind in seventh, setting the stage for a closely fought contest between two sides separated by fine margins.

With World Cup momentum at stake, the Grenada leg promises to be more than just a bilateral series, it shapes as a key checkpoint in both teams’ road to global contention.
