Cricket South Africa has announced the schedule for India’s five-match Women’s T20I tour of South Africa, a crucial build-up series ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, set to begin in June. The highly anticipated series will bring together two of the world’s strongest sides in a competitive rehearsal before the global tournament.
The series will begin in Durban, with the first two T20Is scheduled for April 17 and 19. Action will then shift to Johannesburg, hosting back-to-back matches on April 22 and 25, before the series concludes with the fifth and final T20I in Benoni on April 27.
This contest marks the first meeting between the two sides since the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final, where India defeated South Africa to claim the 50-over world title. That result adds extra edge to the series, with the Proteas eager to respond on home soil and in the shorter format.
The tour forms part of both teams’ preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England, which gets underway on June 12. India and South Africa have also been drawn in the same World Cup group, alongside Australia, Pakistan, and two qualifier teams, making this series a valuable opportunity to assess combinations and strategies ahead of the marquee event.
