Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed R. Sridhar as the Fielding Coach of the Sri Lanka National Team, with his tenure running until the conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
A BCCI Level 3 qualified coach, Sridhar previously served as India’s national men’s team fielding coach from 2014 to 2021, working across more than 300 international matches during a highly successful period.
He will focus on raising Sri Lanka’s fielding standards, working closely with players during upcoming tours of Pakistan and England, before overseeing preparations for the T20 World Cup.
Reacting to his appointment, Sridhar said Sri Lankan players have always been known for instinctive brilliance, resilience, and collective spirit, adding that his aim is to nurture an environment where athleticism, awareness, and pride in the field can develop naturally.
Sridhar is familiar with Sri Lanka’s cricketing setup, having conducted a 10-day specialised fielding programme at the National High Performance Centre earlier this year, and his appointment will be effective from 11 December 2025 to 10 March 2026.
