- State-of-the-art seven-wicket facility aims to boost national teams’ training year-round
- Supports Men’s, Women’s, ‘A’ and Emerging squads, alongside U19, U17, and U15 national teams
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) today (15) officially opened a new Indoor Training Complex at the National High Performance Center, enhancing the country’s Elite Training Center of Cricket.
The seven-wicket facility, built to international standards, includes two wickets each for spin and fast bowling and three general-purpose wickets, designed to allow uninterrupted training regardless of weather conditions.
The inauguration was led by Hon. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Sunil Kumara Gamage, with Deputy Minister Sugath Thilakaratne, SLC Honorary President Shammi Silva, executive committee members, and national men’s and women’s cricketers in attendance.
Housed at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS), Colombo, the High Performance Center already features an international-standard ground, outdoor practice facilities, gymnasium, eight-lane swimming pool, Brain Center for match analysis, and physiotherapy and rehabilitation units.
The new indoor facility comes as Sri Lanka gears up for a packed 2026 calendar, including tours by Pakistan and England in January and co-hosting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup with India.
