Pakistan U19 cruise past UAE U19 by 70 runs in Asia Cup clash

Pakistan U19 delivered a disciplined all-round performance to register a 70-run victory over UAE U19 in their ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2025 encounter at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on December 16.

Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive 241 for 9, recovering well after an early wobble. Ahmed Hussain’s composed 65 off 91 balls anchored the innings, while Sameer Minhas added stability with a patient 44. Valuable lower-order contributions from Hamza Zahoor (42) and Huzaifa Ahsan (23) ensured Pakistan crossed the 240 mark despite regular breakthroughs.

UAE’s bowling effort was led by Yug Jai Sharma, who impressed with 3 for 52, while Naseem Khan (2 for 27) provided good support to keep Pakistan in check through the middle overs.

In reply, UAE U19 showed early promise through Ayaan Misbah’s fighting 77 off 74 balls, but a lack of support at the other end stalled the chase. Once Misbah fell at 108, wickets tumbled quickly and UAE were eventually bowled out for 171 in 37.5 overs.

Pakistan’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Abdul Subhan starring with 4 for 31, well backed by Mohammad Sayyam, Ahmed Hussain, and Momin Qamar. The win underlined Pakistan U19’s balance and composure as they remain firmly in contention in the tournament.
