Lanka Premier League 2026 scheduled for July-August window

  • Sri Lanka Cricket announces new dates for the sixth edition of the LPL
  • Tournament postponed from December 2025 to accommodate T20 World Cup preparations

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be held from 8th July to 8th August 2026.

The tournament was originally scheduled for December 2025 but was postponed to allow ample preparation of host venues ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which Sri Lanka will co-host with India in February-March 2026.

This edition will feature five teams, continuing the LPL’s tradition as Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 competition, and marks a return to the mid-year window used in several previous seasons.

The adjustment ensures that venues and infrastructure are fully ready for both international and domestic competitions, maintaining the LPL’s high standards for players and fans alike.
