ICC and JioStar reaffirm media rights deal, deny reports of withdrawal

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar have jointly dismissed recent media reports suggesting uncertainty around their India media rights partnership, calling the claims “incorrect” and “not reflective of either organisation’s position.”

In a clear statement, both bodies confirmed that the existing media rights agreement remains fully in force, with JioStar continuing as the ICC’s official broadcast partner in India. They emphasised that any suggestion of JioStar withdrawing from the contract is false.

JioStar reiterated its full commitment to honouring all contractual obligations “in letter and spirit,” ensuring that preparations for upcoming ICC events, including the highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup are progressing as scheduled. Officials stressed that the partnership’s operations remain uninterrupted, with no impact on fans, advertisers or industry stakeholders.

The ICC and JioStar also highlighted their ongoing communication on strategic and commercial matters, reaffirming their long-term collaboration aimed at expanding cricket’s reach and delivering high-quality coverage across India.
