Left-arm spinning allrounder Dunith Wellalage has been named captain of Sri Lanka A for the ACC Rising Stars T20 Asia Cup, which kicks off later this month in Doha.
The 15-man squad features several familiar faces, including Nishan Madushka, Nuwanidu Fernando, Milan Rathnayake, Ramesh Mendis, and legspinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth. Seamer Pramod Madushan also returns to the setup, while young batting allrounder Vishen Halambage earns a call-up.
Sri Lanka A are grouped with Afghanistan A, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh A in the tournament starting November 14. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on November 21, with the final scheduled for November 23.

The event will serve as a platform for emerging talents to make a case for national selection, with Wellalage leading a promising mix of youth and experience.
