According to reports, Rajasthan Royals are set to trade Sanju Samson to Chennai Super Kings in a blockbuster swap involving allrounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. Sources indicate that both franchises have held discussions with the three players, though neither team has officially confirmed the deal.
The trade process requires RR and CSK to submit expressions of interest for the three players to the IPL governing council. Once written consent from the players is received, final negotiations can proceed and will be ratified by the council.
Samson has been with RR for 11 seasons and captained the side to the 2022 IPL final. He has amassed 4,027 runs in the IPL, including 25 fifties and a highest score of 124, and has taken 149 catches. Jadeja, a CSK mainstay since 2012 (apart from 2016-17), has 143 wickets for the franchise, 16 Player-of-the-Match awards, and was retained for INR 18 crore ahead of the 2025 mega auction. Curran, meanwhile, began his IPL career with Punjab Kings and has previously represented CSK, returning last season for INR 2.4 crore.
Samson had reportedly sought a change after IPL 2025, prompting RR to explore trade options. If confirmed, the deal would mark one of the most high-profile trades in IPL history.
