Peter Moores takes charge as Trent Rockets Head Coach

Trent Rockets have officially appointed Peter Moores as their new head coach, confirming the long-expected promotion following Andy Flower’s departure. Moores, who had served as Flower’s assistant, steps into the role amid a revamped ownership structure after Cain and Ares acquired a 49% stake in the franchise.

The Nottinghamshire head coach brings extensive experience from the BBL and PSL, and said the timing felt right to take charge. He emphasised building on the strong foundations established by Flower while gearing up for a crucial Hundred auction.

Rockets finished runners-up in the 2025 season, and Moores’ familiarity with Trent Bridge, coupled with his track record of developing players and winning titles, has been hailed as ideal for the role. Director of cricket Mick Newell praised Moores as one of the finest English coaches of his generation.

In other Hundred news, Birmingham Phoenix have extended women’s head coach Ali Maiden on a two-year deal, crediting his impact and player development focus despite last season’s seventh-place finish.
