Pakistan roar back to level series as Ayub, Mirza and Faheem shine

Pakistan stormed back in style to level the T20I series 1-1, crushing South Africa by nine wickets in Lahore after a ruthless all-round display.

Salman Mirza and Faheem Ashraf starred with the ball, combining seven wickets to roll South Africa over for just 110. Mirza struck early with sharp swing and deceptive cutters, while Faheem’s pace variations ripped through the middle order. Only Dewald Brevis showed resistance with a brisk 25.

In reply, Saim Ayub produced a dazzling 71* off 38 balls, showcasing his full range of strokes as Pakistan raced to victory with 41 balls to spare. His 54-run opening stand with Sahibzada Farhan set the tone before captain Babar Azam, who became the all-time leading T20I run-scorer, joined in to finish the chase.

The series now heads into a thrilling decider, with momentum firmly back in Pakistan’s corner.
