Gurbaz and Ibrahim power Afghanistan to 3-0 sweep over Zimbabwe

Afghanistan completed a clean sweep against Zimbabwe with a nine-run victory in Harare, powered by a stunning 159-run opening stand between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. The duo’s dominant hitting lifted Afghanistan to 210 for 3, setting up their 19th win in 21 T20Is against Zimbabwe.

Gurbaz smashed 92 off 48 balls with eight fours and five sixes, while Ibrahim added 60 in a composed supporting role. Even without Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai, Afghanistan’s attack held firm against a spirited chase from Sikandar Raza, who struck 51, and Brian Bennett’s 47.

Raza and Bennett’s counterattack briefly raised hopes for Zimbabwe, but crucial late strikes from Fareed Ahmad and Abdollah Ahmadzai sealed the win. Ahmadzai’s tight final over ensured Zimbabwe were bowled out for 201, completing Afghanistan’s commanding 3-0 series triumph.
