Anya Shrubsole takes charge as RCB bowling Coach for WPL 2026

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made a major move ahead of WPL 2026 — bringing in former England pacer Anya Shrubsole as their new bowling coach.

Shrubsole, a 2017 World Cup winner and one of England’s most decorated bowlers, joins RCB in her first coaching role in the league. She’ll work alongside Malolan Rangarajan, who takes over as head coach this season due to Luke Williams’ BBL commitments with the Adelaide Strikers.

With the WPL now set to kick off on January 8, Rangarajan’s first task is finalizing RCB’s retention list before the November 5 deadline. Captain Smriti Mandhana remains the franchise’s top retention, while talks continue with Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh, Sophie Molineux, and Shreyanka Patil.

RCB — who lifted their first WPL title in 2024 — will look to bounce back strong after missing the final last season. With Shrubsole joining the setup, Bengaluru’s bowling unit is set for a fresh, world-class boost.
