Sri Lanka Shine with Double Relay Gold at South Asian Athletics Championships

Sri Lanka delivered a dominant display at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championships 2025 in Ranchi, India, winning gold in both the Men’s and Women’s 4x100m relay events.

The Men’s team sprinted to victory with an impressive time of 39.99 seconds, while the Women’s 4x100m quartet followed suit moments later, sealing gold in 44.70 seconds to complete a clean sweep in the relays.

Adding to the medal tally, Kalinga Kumarage stormed to gold in the Men’s 400m, clocking 46.21 seconds, with compatriot Kalhara Indupa securing bronze in the same race.

Former long jumper turned discus thrower Milantha Sampath earned bronze in the Men’s Discus Throw, while Sayuri Mendis claimed bronze in the Women’s 400m, rounding off a strong overall showing for Sri Lanka in Ranchi.
